Hey!
Welcome to written by a human. I am the author, and I wanted to personally warn you: you're making a grave mistake by coming here.
My writing is opinionated. I'm an unabashed individualist who couldn't care less what crowds and tribes think. The topics range widely but typically explore angles of agency and wicked problems. Fundamentally, I am interested in human flourishing.
What you will likely find concerning is that this author makes no claim of authority here and instead brings a high degree of hubris, curiosity, and sincere belief in our capacity to engineer solutions and to change.
Think of "written by a human" as a blog written by a scout, for fellow scouts.
I write for three(ish) reasons:
First, writing clarifies what I know I know, what I think I know, what I know I don't know, and—crucially—sometimes reveals what I don't know I don't know. It's a hell of a process.
Second, filling a blank page with meaning is deeply satisfying. We're communicating through time and space, wOooOoOoooo.
Third, the internet is full of space garbage—algorithmic slop, performative expertise, people confidently wrong about everything. I've been online nearly three score years, and let me tell you: most people aren't that smart, they just sound confident. Worse, they're often pushing genuinely dumb ideas.
So I write, because ordinary people should go to bat for their ideas, for their interests, both big and small.
If at this point, you have blown past all the warning signs and engaging in (occasionally) transgressive thought appeals to you, do subscribe! Join the ever-growing conspiracy in the marketplace of ideas to flourish and change. And if you're not ready to blog and put your ideas out there yet, I hope you'll still write back to me from time to time!
