I'm Nils, and this is my personal blog.

Most of my writing (but not all) are influenced by three primary interests:

• Agency: How we exercise meaningful action within complex systems
• Moonshots: Ambitious ideas that often require collective effort
• Wicked Problems: Complex challenges that resist simple solutions

I'm not an expert, but an ordinary person with a sincere belief in our capacity to engineer solutions to current and future challenges, both as individuals and a collective.

"written by a human" is a blog written by a scout, for fellow scouts.

I write because writing helps clarify what I know and where gaps remain. Because the marketplace of ideas is real and should be participated in to test out the strength and value of our ideas.

Fundamentally, I write because I believe in the power of the pen, and ordinary people should be willing to go to bat for their ideas– and if there is only one thing I convince you of, it's that you too, should engage in writing and the marketplace of ideas. Real progress happens when regular people share ideas, swap resources and lean on each other.
